Love Didcot Community Choir

The King’s Church needed a choir for its Live Nativity in the town centre in December. We also received a request from a nurse working in a care home who had come up with an idea to involve the residents in choir practices. We therefore decided to put the two together - why not have a choir that sings for and with people who are in need, vulnerable or who wouldn’t normally be able to access singing in this way? A choir for the whole community of Didcot.

In October 2018 the choir was born! It is open to the whole community to join (no auditions!) and has started to meet regularly to practice and perform. Alongside this we're also planning to sing together in care homes, hospitals, pubs and bars to provide opportunities for those who wouldn’t normally go to a concert or come to practices to hear and experience the uplifting joy of singing together and being part of something.

The Choir is led by Lizzie Butler who is one of the musical directors for The Oxford Gospel Choir.
