We believe God wants us to work in teams. Our church is led by a leadership team and we have lots of other teams that support and serve the church and the community.

Nick and Naomi White

Nick and Naomi came to Didcot in 1999 to help start the King’s Church. They met as students in Oxford and trained at King’s Bible College in Berwickshire before moving here. They have four mostly grown-up children and enjoy walking, reading, watching cricket and thinking about gardening. Nick is employed as Pastor of King’s Church four days a week, and works one day a week for our wider OpenGate family of churches overseeing finances and training. Naomi home educates and is employed by the church one day a week as an Assistant Pastor. Nick and Naomi have particular responsibility for leading the team and strategic direction, preaching and teaching, discipleship, prayer and the spiritual side of Sunday mornings, and Naomi oversees youth and children’s work.

Chris and Jo Preston

Chris and Jo married and moved to Didcot in 2000 initially due to it being a convenient town halfway between Oxford and Reading where their jobs were based. They started attending The King's Church when it was only 6 months old and quickly felt at home, developing a heart for the town and the people in it and recognising God’s call to love and serve the community. Many years on, Chris still works in Reading as Manager in a print company and Jo is a physiotherapist in the NHS. They have 3 children who bring them much joy, the eldest of which is now at university.

Their particular responsibilities in the church are worship and tech oversight, Sunday morning meeting leading, running the crèche, pastoral oversight and being on the core team for Faith Missional Community.

Estie and Matt Warren

Matt and Estie have been at the Kings Church since 2004 and have been involved in various aspects of the church, initially taking on a house group, co-leading coffee and kids for 13 years and now heading the team that lead Faith Missional Community. Matt is a database and events officer for an overseas Christian mission charity and Estie works as a nurse practitioner in the NHS and they have three children and one dog.

They enjoy dog walking, spending time with family and watching and playing football among other sports.

Andrew and Rachel Sheard

Andrew and Rachel joined the King’s Church in 2014 after moving to Oxfordshire from Norfolk where they were part of the Leadership at King’s Lynn Baptist Church. Andrew works as a Quality professional and Rachel is an accountant. They live in Harwell with their daughter Beth who is at university and have two older sons who have now left home. Together with Annetta they lead  the Love Didcot missional community. Andrew oversees the practical Sunday morning teams and Rachel oversees the tea and coffee team and serves as the Treasurer for King’s Church.

Annetta Slade

My journey with Kings Church started with an Alpha course in 2004. On Alpha I discovered how much God loved me, since then my journey has been an exciting and challenging one but God has brought me through every time.  I am a divorced mother of 4 adult children, and also now a grandmother.  I live in Didcot and my home is quite a busy one, my daughter, who is autistic, and her wonderful pets make it interesting. I have a passion for prayer and am part of the Prayer encouragement team for Kings and the Evangelism team,  I also lead Love Didcot Missional Community with Andrew & Rachel and serve on the Alpha team.  My day job is as Finance & Payroll Manager for Oxfordshire Community Churches, our Charity Hub based in Oxford.

Josie Mottershead

Josie joined the King’s Church in 2006 when she got married to Martin and moved to Didcot from London where she had been part of a church plant. Before having her daughter she worked in charity administration and when she moved from London worked for 5 years at Midcounties Co-operative as a Membership Development Co-ordinator. For the last 10 years as well as bringing up her daughter, she has volunteered for various charities including King’s Church. She lives in Didcot with Martin and their daughter Rachael. As well as doing the Church administration, Josie served in children’s work in the church for 13 years and now serves on the Welcome and Alpha Teams and is a member of the Prayer Co-ordination and Evangelism Encouragement Teams.
