The King’s Church Midweek Communities
Purpose and Aim:
The King’s Church’s Midweek Communities (MC’s) are absolutely vital to the health and growth of our church. The church has always been built up by our small groups (not broken down into them!) and they are wonderful places to grow faith, deepen relationships, care for one another, experience discipleship and be vehicles for mission.
The aims of the groups are essentially three-fold and follow the overall ‘up, in and out’ theme of our vision statements for The King’s Church.
Firstly: ‘UP’ - the small groups are places where prayer, worship and Bible study can occur to deepen our love, knowledge and understanding of our Lord and Saviour. They are a great place to learn about and practice the gifts of the Spirit in a safe, small and nurturing environment.
Secondly: ‘IN’ - they are absolutely essential for building closer relationships and deeper connections with one another within the church and are often places where our ‘first level’ of care occurs. They are places where people can seek prayer, love and support from people that they know and trust.
Thirdly: ‘OUT’ - they are places where we can support each other with praying for our friends who are not yet Christians and learn and develop a heart for evangelism, potentially supporting outreach projects together.
Current Groups:
We currently have three Midweek Communities in The King’s Church:
Faith MC which meets on the Ladygrove.
Hope MC which meets in central Didcot and on-line
Love MC which meets in Harwell
