CAPMC BBQ

  • Sunday, 10 June 2018

  • 13:00 15:30

CAP Didcot and Wallingford’s Summer BBQ at St Matthew’s, Church Lane, Harwell, OX11 0EZ. It will be a great time for CAP clients and volunteers to eat, have fun and hear the Gospel together, with food, kids games, live music and a talk from Musician, Missionary and Mum, Kathryn Ford on why “You Matter”.

CAP MC will be serving CAP Debt Centre and the other churches on this by organizing the BBQ and food. As a group we will be getting there from 11:30am, setting up (quietly as St Matthew’s morning service will still be going on!), getting food on and cooking it, serving drinks, and then helping to clear up at the end. Anyone is very welcome to join us with this – should be great fun. Let Nick know or Stuart McGill know if you are coming on stueymcgill@gmail.com so we know for catering and organizing roles. There will be parking in the field opposite the church.

FCMC in the countryside

The location is 50 Sharpenhoe Road, Barton-le-clay Bedfordshire, MK45 4SD (approx 90mins drive - day trip distance if you cannot commit to staying overnight).

The plan would be arrive mid morning on Saturday 9th and unpack cars. We will then have a bring and share lunch followed by a walk over the Barton Hills, enjoying the Springs and large recreation ground - please do bring games with you.

Saturday evening we will have a BBQ followed by some traditional Giles family games (my maiden name, my parents family home). Games are titled: 'Skip to the loo' or 'Compost corner' (depending on the weather), laser tag and stuck in the mud also possible. We can play knock-out-pool and there are plenty of board games, and puzzles to keep us busy into the evening, although place feel free to bring your own favourite games too.

Sunday morning we are hoping to do bacon butties, followed by 'Bring a thing Church'.
Sunday lunch will be picnic lunches (bring your own or you can buy from local co-op 5min walk away)
